Giant swords that are slow attack but powerful, like the scyth only as a blade insted of scyth

IF the next expantion (i.e. nightfall) had greatsowrds, hammers would lose thier usefulness. The only reason ppl use hammers is to have a high D.P.S.

Swords and axes have more DPS than hammers do. People use hammers for the disruption and KD chains.

Although i agree completely how cool it would be...I highly doubt we will see Greatswords in Nightfall. Maybe later down the road..but for now nope.

so the only thing that needs to be in a game for you to have any interest in is is a big sword?

Yeah...a 2 handed sword would be nice, Anet could classify it as a Hammer

gigantic swords are nice to look at for a while then they just look feakishly lame... gw weapons lack something that can describe them to be badass... i mean even the crystaline looks lame... i just think the weapons designing poeple need some fresh ideas on weapons that look like they would utterly own..

yeah, if they don't add boomerangs and blow darts I'm going to lose interest too
maybe a nice pair of nunchaku and throwing stars
and fishing poles, i want to catch those sharks
Anet should listen to me because if they don't I won't buy their next chapter and everyone cares what I think and they won't buy it either.

Great swords are to my understanding are 2 handed swords, and the answer to the OP is no, since weapons are class origin specifc and with Nightfall only a spear and shield for paragon and the sycthe for Dervish has been introduced.
As for the losing interest part, this game though with new "expansions" features roughly the same concepts around teambased cooperative missions story line, nothing spectacular about the core PvE gameplay will be changed and if you dont PvP, nothing much else remains for you if you dont like to farm and play doll dress up.

That's a bit harsh. We have yet to see what tactical difference the new professions will make, as well as the impact of Heroes and new "puzzles" in the Missions (see thread about new Nightfall features).
True, Factions didn't really change the game that much, but I'm not going to pre-judge Nightfall based on Factions' faults.

Sorry I just don't see why you can't have Two handed swords, Two handed Axes and a Mace and shield.
